Cabling Removal & Abatement

An often overlooked aspect of decommissioning or closing an office is the removal of the cabling otherwise known as cable abatement.  Often the terms of your lease or local fire or building codes mandate that the cabling must be removed.  At Cabling Doctor our team can help you by removing structured cabling.

Our Process:

Consultation

Our team of project managers and sales engineers can help you identify an abatement plan.  This includes understanding the scope of the project, the building details, and the intended disposal of the cables.

Line Verification & Removal

When working in multi-tenant offices, we take special care to remove only the necessary lines by testing and identifying shared lines or lines for other tenants.  Upon verification, we safely remove the cabling in compliance with local building codes.

Our removal process typically involves the following:

  • Cut the cable at the conduit stubs
  • Remove all cable back to the MDF
  • Remove or blank out faceplates
  • Cleanup
  • Take before and after photos of the work
Disposal

We work with local companies to dispose of or recycle materials in the most environment-friendly way as possible.

Our appointments are scheduled for a specific time to better serve you. We never waste your time by providing a service window (e.g. “between 10 and 2.”) For more information please call us at 281-482-2031 or request a quote online and we will be in touch with you shortly.
